    Not everyone wants to have children and that’s fine. Other who do or have already had children understand how much it can cost. The hospital bill, special food, medicines, diapers, beds, clothing, and so much more is what children need in order to thrive in this world. Why is it so much and why doesn’t this defer people from having children?

    The cost of a child truly depends on where you live and how much you make. According to nbc news, “Daycare alone for an infant in New York City, can run $18,000 a year or more” (Fox).   • Child Soliders

    Children in many countries are being forced into torment by adults and older child soldiers, to fight in their countries wars. They are kidnapped as young as seven years old and put through rigorous training that no child should go through. Why would they do this to children and are they being saved? Fortunately, some countries are implementing laws that will no longer allow children to be put through this.

    There are many countries that are taking part in this: Afghanistan, India, Thailand, Yemen, Central African Republic, Congo, Libya, Syria, Turkey and many more (It’s Immoral). But first, who are these child soldiers? They “are children who are used for any military purpose… They are not only boys – many are girls. Some child soldiers are used for fighting – to kill and commit other acts of violence. Others are used as cooks, porters, messengers, informants or spies” and even sexual purposed (It’s Immoral).

  • What is “Agoge?” Can It Be Used Today?

    Training young male children to be loyal and fearless warriors was the ‘norm’ in ancient Greece. Sparta, a city-state in ancient Greece, was a warrior making society that took on many disciplines starting at an early age. The Agoge was the system where they made this known and normal. What happens during the Agoge? Why was this implemented? Considering modern times, is this system still possible today?

    Ancient Greece is fascinating for many reasons like the language, the city-states of Athens, Thebes, and Sparta, the first Olympic Games took place during ancient Greece, the architecture, and of course the early Sparta training known as Agoge. Knowing the history of ancient Greece is an important one, considering it was a different world back then, and knowing it will aid you in understanding the way their life was.
